Baljia as a Lovable alternative
Lovable and Baljia can both turn a plain-language description into a working web app. The difference is what happens around the app: Lovable is a tool you build with, and Baljia is an AI employee that builds the app and then keeps working on getting it customers. This page uses Lovable's own public website, as of September 2026.
What Lovable is
Lovable describes itself as an AI software engineer that lets anyone build websites and web apps by chatting. Its site describes a backend through Lovable Cloud and Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Stripe for payments, React, Supabase and Tailwind with GitHub sync from day one, full code export, and a custom domain, SEO optimization and security scans when you publish. You chat with it to build, and can also edit layouts, colors and text directly.
Baljia and Lovable side by side
| Compared on | Baljia | Lovable |
|---|---|---|
| How you work with it | Chat on WhatsApp, Slack or the web dashboard; it proposes tasks and you approve them | Chat in Lovable to build, plus direct visual editing |
| The app | A React web app with a database, sign-in, your core workflow and an owner dashboard | Websites and web apps on React, Supabase and Tailwind, with auth, database and storage |
| Hosting and code | Baljia hosts and maintains the app on a baljia.app address | Lovable Cloud hosting, custom domains, GitHub sync and full code export |
| Checking the app works | Compiles it, loads it in a browser and walks through the main flow; tells you when a flow could not be confirmed | Lists security scans when you publish |
| Taking payments | Bookings and order capture; card checkout into your own payment account is not available yet | Connects to Stripe for payments |
| Search after launch | Audits for Google and AI answer engines, writes pages and blog posts | Lists SEO optimization when you publish |
| Social, ads and outreach | Drafts social posts, drafts Meta ads for your approval, researches leads and sends outreach with follow-ups | Not described on its site |
| Free start | Starts with a 14-day free trial with up to 10 task credits and a set amount of AI usage, no credit card | A free plan with 5 build credits a day (up to 30 a month) |
| First paid plan | $19 a month (₹1,999 a month plus 18% GST in India) with 200 task credits | Pro at $25 a month with 100 monthly credits |
| Teams | Invite teammates as admins, approvers or viewers | Unlimited members on every plan |
A Baljia task credit and a Lovable credit are different units, so the credit counts are not directly comparable.
Where Baljia differs
- It does the work, not only the tool. With Baljia you describe the goal and approve a plan; it breaks the work into tasks and runs them. You do not have to drive every prompt.
- The job continues after launch. The same AI employee that built the app audits it for Google and AI search, drafts social posts, and finds and contacts potential customers, with the business context it already has.
- It checks its own build. Each build is compiled, loaded in a browser and walked through its main flow, and if a flow could not be confirmed, it tells you.
- It works in your chat. You can run it from WhatsApp or Slack, not only a browser tab.
When Lovable is the better choice
Lovable is likely the better fit if:
- You need card payments in your app now. Lovable's site describes connecting Stripe; apps Baljia builds take bookings and orders, but card checkout into your own account is not available yet.
- You want to build hands-on, see every change as it happens, and fine-tune the design yourself.
- You need your code in your own GitHub repository from day one, or full code export. Lovable's site describes both; Baljia hosts and maintains the app for you.
- You are building internal tools for a team. Lovable lists unlimited members on every plan, and its docs list single sign-on (SSO) on its Business plan.
- You only need the software. If you will do the marketing and selling yourself, you do not need an AI employee for them.
